Cougars Football to be Broadcasted Live on the Radio

Friends, family and fans will now have a new way to follow the Cougars. Starting in May, the Cougars Varsity Travel Football Team will have their home games broadcasted live on Country Radio 92.9 FM. The team is part of the OFC (Ontario Football Conference) which plays eight season games followed by playoffs for the top four teams. The games will be three down, CFL style football which makes for excitement since teams are rarely out of contention until the final whistle. "This is very high calibre football and fans of the game will see that this is legitimate sports entertainment", says Cougars’ President Selwyn Jordan.

The Cougars Football club offers clinics, flag and minor tackle football leagues, cheerleading and travel football. There are currently four Cougar travel teams with players ranging in age from 9 to 19. The Varsity team, which will have its games broadcasted, includes players who are seventeen to nineteen years old. The first game will be broadcasted on Friday, May 22nd and will be the inaugural game for the Cougars in this division.

All four home games will be broadcasted live including play by play commentary and sideline reporting. The games will be called by Mike Regnier who explains, "This will allow fans to follow the team from home if they can’t make it to the game; I love football and am really looking forward to this."
