Varsity Lost 38 - 12 to Twin City Predators


The Chatham-Kent Cougars Varsity team started off strong leading after the first quarter and keeping the score tied in the first half against last years OFC Champion Twin City Predators.

Tim Doermer had a 38 yard field goal to open the scoring. After some great defensive play, Tim Doermer punted 2 balls out of the endzone to give the Cougars a 5 - 0 lead in the half quarter. Before the half, Josh Shuian intercepted a pass just before being tackled he lateraled the ball back to Zach Shian. Zach Shian ran the ball in for a 57 yard TD. That kept the game tied 12-12 at halftime.

Poor field position, miscues on pass protection, defensive fatique, played a factor to lead to 26 unanswered points in the second half.

Brandon Donkers was the leading rusher and had 87 all purpose yards. Mitch Hoekstra had 17 yards rushing. And Jeremiah Hamilton from the QB position had 24 yards rushing. Mitch Rate had 72 all purpose yards. Tristian Robinet had another Interception to lead the OFC with 4. Josh Shuian had 7 tackles and one interception. Brock Herman had 1 sack, 2 hurries, and 4 tackles. Brendan Thompson had 5 tackles.
