CHATHAM KENT COUGARS - PEE-WEE TRAVEL
The Peewee Cougars are now 3-0 after a 41-0 victory over the Oakville Titans. Sean Harris opened the scoring, capping a 60 yard drive, with an 8 yard run. On the next possesion, with the game still tight, the Cougars ran a pitch pass with Jake Anderson at running back, throwing a touchdown pass to Trent Scaman. The Cougars defence once again was tough against the run, not allowing the Titans out of their end the entire first half. Before the half ended, the Cougars scored on a 7 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Kelton Evans to Liberty Roundtree, for a 20-0 halftime lead. Owen Dorssers made 2 of 3 first half converts.
In the second half, the Cougars defence led by the strong play of Alex Formosa, Jordan Church, and Tanner Shuin, once again contained the Titans offence, not allowing them outside the tackles. This provide the Cougars offence with excellent field position. Nicholas Melillo and Zach Nicholson also did a great job of plugging up the middle for the Cougars. The Cougars spread the ball around with 9 different ball carriers who combined for 228 yards rushing. Brady Pataki opened the scoring in the second half on an 11 yard run. Soon after, Nolan Ball had a 25 yard touchdown run off a reverse. Late in the game, with the game well out of reach for the Titans, Sean Harris plunged in from 2 yards. Owen Dorssers converted 1 of 3 converts in the second half. He also contributed with a defensive safety late in the game. The Cougar offensive coaches praised the offensive lineman and noted excellent blocking from Mathew Lee, Drake St Pierre and Bradley Wild.
