July 25, 2010 Game Summary - Chatham-Kent Cougars Travel Peewees 47, Oakville Titans, 6
The Peewee Cougars finished the regular season with their 8th straight win, finishing the season 8-0, amassing 352 points on offense and only 6 points allowed by the defense.
The offense started the scoring early with a 3 yard run from Brady Pataki. Pataki would go on to have his best game of the season, only playing running back for the first half. Pataki recorded 121 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns in total in the game Liberty Rountree added 54 yards rushing and a touchdown as well. Trent Scaman added a 25 yard touchdown catch from Kelton Evans for the other Cougar touchdown of the game. Evans went 3 for 3 for 63 yards before being replaced by Nolan Ball later in the game. Excellent line play by Bradley Wild, Drake St Pierre, Mathew Lee, Philip Clarke, Hunter Wigwans and Connor Walsh attributed to the unstoppable running game of the offense. “All the boys stepped up once again today for us, the ball was spread around well to a bunch of different players who had success once again” stated Offensive Coach Doug Ball.
Owen Dorssers converted 5 of 6 converts and kicked a 16 yard field goal. Ross Krieger scored on a 2 point conversion on a pass by Evans after a botched snap on a point after touchdown try.
Defensively, the Cougars gave up the first points of the season to the Titans offense that came storming out of the gate early. “The pressure is off now of the 0 point season, and we can now focus solely on beating Forest City next week in the championship game” stated Head Coach Kevin Pugh. “It was impressive how the boys just kept playing hard and did not hang their heads.” Kenny Levesque had 2 interceptions and Nolan Hakr added a third in the game that was dominated by the Cougar defense as usual. Alex Formossa, Owen Dorssers, Austin Miller and Quentin Forgie again shut down the Titans attempts at running outside as they have done all year. Dylan Beaumont and Spencer Pugh did a great job at shutting down any passing attempts as well.
The Cougars will meet the Forest City Thunderbirds next Saturday, July 31st at 3pm in London for the championship
